Key highlights and reflections by participants have been recorded in some videos, including Kathleen Van Brempt, Xavier Troussard and Michaël Gillis’ interviews. Watch them here.

SHAPE ENERGY celebrated its conclusion with a one-day conference in Brussels on January 22. SHAPE ENERGY partner Friends of Europe, in partnership with the whole consortium, brought together around 200 stakeholders from across Europe to host a series of debates. The discussions centred on the importance of better integrating energy-SSH issues within the next research and innovation framework: Horizon Europe. It also examined how connecting the right people and thinking through the vast array of disciplines can spur key recommendations to better use and apply available SSH research. Overall, participants strongly supported a better integration of SSH research within the design, evaluation and implementation of energy systems and policies.

Call for action: SHAPE ENERGY ‘Research & Innovation Agenda needs your support

These 7 principles for Energy-SSH in Horizon Europe 2020-2030 are being submitted to the European Commission’s strategy unit for Energy Research and Innovation (within DG RTD) very soon. This is a last call for those of you who haven´t had a chance to read it and add your support yet, and to thank all of you who have.

The SHAPE ENERGY ‘Research & Innovation Agenda’ is a key legacy of the work we have been carrying out for two years. The more signatories we can demonstrate, the stronger our message to the European Commission is of how vital energy-SSH is to Europe’s energy transition. We have almost 400 signatures already and our aim is to reach 500. Please, do forward this on to others who may be interested.
